Today's poem is by Hailey Leithauser
Daedalus
No stirring song was
ever sung abouthim. Poets left us
mean detail, forgoteach meticulous
feather's measured knot,each bowed wing's cautious
bending, tidy strut'sfixed, fastidious
conduct; forgot routevouching blind sea, fuss
with veer, drop; forgoteach prudent excess,
strict, passionate doubt.
