William Baer teaches at the University of Evansville. He is the author of The Unfortunates, which received the 1997 T. S. Elliot Poetry Prize, and two collections of interviews: Conversations with Derek Walcott (1996) and Elia Kazan: Interviews (2000). His work has been published in Poetry, Ploughshares, Kenyon Review, Southern Review, Hudson Review, and New Criterion.
