Linda Pastan was poet laureate of Maryland from 1991 through 1994; the latest of her 11 books of poems is The Last Uncle, recently out in paperback. Other books include A Fraction of Darkness, PM/AM: New and Selected Poems, and The Imperfect Paradise.
