is the author of six books of poetry and two critical studies. His work has received wide recognition, including the Cecil Hemley and Robert H. Winner Prizes from the Poetry Society of America, and an Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He is Professor of English and Creative Writing at Princeton University.
