Today's poem is by Jack Kristiansen

Blazon
after Paul Klee's "precision" drawings (1927)

how little the whorls
of a star's ears
have to do with celebrity

only so prominent
the nose
is the perfect tease

the philtrum
an evocative hollow
for enhancing the mouth

the full lips
glossed with promise
fulfilling itself

those large peerless eyes
with the eyebrows lined just so
proposing yes

let's make believe
nothing's so becoming
as make believe
