Today's poem is by Jack Kristiansen
Blazon
after Paul Klee's "precision" drawings (1927)
how little the whorls
of a star's ears
have to do with celebrityonly so prominent
the nose
is the perfect teasethe philtrum
an evocative hollow
for enhancing the mouththe full lips
glossed with promise
fulfilling itselfthose large peerless eyes
with the eyebrows lined just so
proposing yeslet's make believe
nothing's so becoming
as make believe
