Ned Balbo's six books include The Cylburn Touch-Me-Nots (New Criterion Prize), Lives of the Sleepers (Ernest Sandeen Prize), and The Trials of Edgar Poe and Other Poems (Donald Justice Prize and the 2012 Poets' Prize). He's taught in Iowa State's MFA program in creative writing and environment and received grants or fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts (translation), the Maryland Arts Council, the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, and the Sewanee Writers' Conference. Balbo has taught for Iowa State University's MFA program in creative writing and environment, the Frost Farm and West Chester University poetry conferences, and Loyola University Maryland. He is married to poet and essayist Jane Satterfield. New poems are out or forthcoming in The Common, Interim, and Notre Dame Review.
