Dan O'Brien
is a poet, playwright, and nonfiction writer. He is a former Guggenheim Fellow in Drama and has twice received the PEN America Award for Drama. His poetry collections are Flying on Easter and Other Poems (Poetry London Editions), Survivor's Notebook (Acre Books), Our Cancers (Acre Books), Scarsdale (Measure Press in US; CB Editions in UK), New Life (Hanging Loose Press in US; CB Editions in UK), and War Reporter (Hanging Loose Press in US; CB Editions in UK) which received the UK's Fenton Aldeburgh Prize. In 2023 he published his memoir From Scarsdale: A Childhood (Dalkey Archive Press), and a collection of his plays, True Story: A Trilogy (Dalkey Archive Press). O'Brien lives in Los Angeles.
