Athar C. Pavis grew up in Brooklyn, studied Provencal poetry at the Institut d'Etudes Provencales in Paris and did research on Proust. She later attended the Institut des Sciences Politiques, and taught at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sorbonne where she has trained public figures, diplomats, and negotiators of all stripes in public speaking. She leads a peripatetic life between Maine and France, and has published widely in literary magazines in the U.S, Canada, and the U.K. Her poetry collection, PULLED PORK IN PARIS (Kelsay Books, 2023) brings together poems from her expatriate experience.
