Today's poem is by John Surowiecki
Invective against Swans
Where we once raised our voices against a war,
who go down to the sea in Swan Boats,
where childrenthe dukes of ducks and queens
of butterfliesonce slept on blankets stuck
like stamps on an envelope of lawn,
we welcome back all the old Lohengrins
catamarans in diarrheal water, itching for a fight.
There's still time, boys: take the Green Line.
Plenty of souls to save and wrongs to right
and grails on sale at Crate & Barrel.
