Today's poem is by Wayne Miller
Hospital
All the people with their narratives
tucked inside themlike glimpsing out an airplane window
other planes flying
I walked the grounds
noting the transitions from grass to concrete
to grass againI went to the cafeteria
I was still inside my body
with its hunger
I couldn't decide
if they had turned off a lightinside you
or turned you off
inside the light
My mind was just starting to make
the incisionof these words
When the text came
I climbed the stairs to find you
inside your bodywhere you still are
