Time Warp (May 2020)
With a bit of a mind flipYou're into the time slip
And nothing can ever be the same ...(From "The Time Warp," The Rocky Horror Picture Show)
Back then, it was just for fun
(the midnight movie seen over
and over) costumes and propsa candle on Venus de Milo's head.
Ridiculous really, and no context for
it nowa Gothic spoof, a group offriends shouting out dialogue, water
pistols ready to soak anyone close
when Janet and Brad walkedinto the storm. Happier companions
than we would have been in our
own thoughts, we tossed confettilike shredded love letters, snapped
our rubber gloves with Frank, and
threw toilet paper into the airwhen Brad cried out, Great Scott!
Most of those friends disappeared
years ago and only come back asunintentional memories, held in a
time warp where young was young,
and nothing can ever be the same.
