Ellery Akers
's latest collection of poems is Swerve: Environmentalism, Feminism, and Resistance, which won BookAuthority's Award for Best Environmentalism Books of All Time. She is also the author of two previous poetry collections, Practicing the Truth and Knocking on the Earth, and has won multiple awards, including the Poetry International Prize and an IPPY Award. She lives in Northern California and teaches private poetry workshops.
