Cate Marvin is a recipient of the Kate Tufts Discovery Award, the Whiting Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the author of four books of poems, the most recent of which is Event Horizon (Copper Canyon Press, 2022). She is a Professor of English at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York. She is the proud mother of a trans nonbinary kid, with whom she resides in Scarborough, Maine.
