Hail the spirit that has power to join us.
For we truly live by means of symbols.
And with little steps the clocks are running
right along beside our actual day.

Though we do not know our own true place,
deep connections guide us as we act.
Our antennae sense far-off antennae.
Empty distances transmit...

Oh, pure tension. Music of these forces!
Don't your casual, everyday affairs
screen you well from every interference?

All the farmer's care, and all his nurture
of the seeds transforming into summer
do not reach them. For they are earth's gift.
