Magdalene
       

It takes a woman
lovely in sin

to wash his feet
in tears & dry them

with her ample hair,
a rich girl humbled

but brazen enough
to speak the news—

apostle to the apostles—
that he's risen.

It takes her unction
to anoint his body

without wavering,
then find it gone.
