Marilyn Hacker won the National Book Award and the PEN/ Voelcker Award for Poetry, is the recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundations, and the author of 13 books of poetry, including A Stranger's Mirror: New and Selected Poems 1994-2003 (W.W. Norton, 2015). She is a translator of Arabic and Francophone poets, most recently Rachida Madani's Tales of a Severed Head (Yale U P, 2012). She lives in Paris, France.
