Gary Youngis the author of numerous collections of poetry, including No Other Life (Creative Arts Book Co., 2002), winner of the William Carlos Williams Award; and Even So: New and Selected Poems (White Pine P, 2012). His most recent book, That's What I Thought (Persea Books, 2018), received the Lexi Rudnitsky Editor's Choice Award. In 2009 he received the Shelley Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America. He teaches writing and directs the Cowell Press at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
