Benjamin Cutler
was raised on a riverbank in western North Carolina,
where he is now an English and creative-writing teacher at Swain County
High School. His poetry has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and
has appeared, or is forthcoming, in Cider Press Review, Cold Mountain
Review, Longleaf Review, Still: The Journal, and The Carolina Quarterly,
among others. His poem in this issue, "To the Turkey Vulture Pacing the
Field," will appear in his upcoming collection, The Geese Who Might Be
Gods, set for a May 2019 release by Main Street Rag Publishing. When
he is not teaching, writing, or playing with his children, Benjamin can be
found on the creeks and trails of his mountain home.
