Today's poem is by Paul J. Willis

Wild Strawberry
        (Fragaria diorcus)

These strawberry fields, if not forever,
will last for a spring and a summer.

Facing the sun on this high ridge,
they grow exactly where they will—

no tractored rows, no children
filling their broken baskets.

Just a visiting bear or two when time is ripe—
something, should you round the bend

upon this slope some evening,
that will give you pause.
