Persistence As Life Force
       

the battery weakens
the wall clock
loses time

if only it were
that easy to postpone
the future

enough to work
through all the small
and large resolutions

that have been
held in abeyance

but then again
in such slower times
the mind

would want
to remember
its way through

the scattered pieces
and try to pull
them together

still clamoring
for more
