Laverne Frith
is a regular member of the Reviewer Panel of New York Journal of Books. Founder and co-editor of Ekphrasis: A Poetry Journal (currently in its twenty-first year), Laverne was, for nineteen years, a monthly poetry columnist for Living in the West/Senior Magazine. His poetry chapbooks include four from Finishing Line Press (two nominated for the California Book Awards) plus a unique chapbook, Celebrations: Images and Texts (Rattlesnake Press, 2009), featuring Frith's photography as well as his poetry. He has three previous full-length poetry collections, Imagining the Self (Cherry Grove Collections, 2011), The Evaporating Hours (Authorspress, 2015), and Advanced Dancing (Authorspress, 2016), which was awarded the Artists Embassy International Gold Seal Book Award. Nominated for the Pushcart Prize and featured recently on Verse Daily, he is widely published in such journals as The Christian Science Monitor, Louisiana Literature, Verbal Art, Phenomenal Literature, and The Dalhousie Review.
