Jeremy Robson
has edited various landmark anthologies (including The Young British Poets for Chatto). For many years the Tribune poetry critic, he initiated the large-scale Poetry and Jazz in Concert events involving many leading poets. Two of these concerts, one at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, one at the Abbey Road Studios, were recorded by Argo and recently re-issued on CD. Other readings included a British Council reading tour of Israel with Dannie Abse, Ted Hughes, D.J. Enright and Peter Porter. He has also published several books of his own poetry, most recently Blues in the Park (also published by Smokestack). A well-known publisher with his own imprint, he is currently at work on a memoir. He and his wife Carole live in London.

About Subject Matters:
"Jeremy Robson's new poems refer to the familiar and find wonder in earthly things. Often deeply moving, they remain as direct as a surprise while having a double satisfying focus which makes them as much for the study as for the page."
"My test when reading a new book of poems is to stick a post-it wherever there's a poem I want to go back to. They sprout like a small forest from Blues in the Park. This is the work of a poet whose experiences, transmuted into fluent, accessible poetry, will strike a harmonious chord with many readers."
"A monument to patient skill and gentle craft. Robson writes with a beautiful autumnal Melancholy."
"Makes the long wait since his last volume extremely worthwhile. His poetry is enticing."
"Powerful, poignant, and piquant."
