Today's poem is by Elaine Sexton
Resident
I take steel blue
& titanium whiteback to my room.
The prospect of paintis the refuge
of ideas. The sun loadsthe mountain
chestnutleaves with light,
the other nuttrees stand
in the dark.Cloudage.
The death of springis exposure,
bars of what dropsfrom the sky
bands wherethe hail falls, then rain,
then night.
