Yvonne Zipter is the author of the poetry collections Like Some Bookie God and The Patience of Metal, the nonfiction books Ransacking the Closet and Diamonds Are a Dyke's Best Friend, and, formerly, the nationally syndicated column "Inside Out." Her poems, humorous essays, and feature articles have appeared in numerous periodicals and anthologies, including Poetry, Calyx, and Crab Orchard Review. Several of her short stories have also appeared in print, including "Gunther's Wife," which won first place in LitPot ezine eclectic Flash Fiction Contest. She is a recipient of an Illinois Arts Council Literary Award.
