Max Somers
was born and raised in Indiana. His recent work appears or is forthcoming in Prairie Schooner, Third Coast, Hayden's Ferry Review, The Greensboro Review, and elsewhere. In 2012, he was runner-up for the "Discovery"/ Boston Review Poetry Prize and winner of the Robinson Jeffers Tor House Prize. He currently lives in Madison, WI, where he teaches at Oakhill Correctional Institution. Every August, he races motorcycles at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
