Today's poem is by Brian Russell
Love and Later
Luckily the trees
Have the wind it gives
Them something
To do all night the waves
Batter the seawall
Ceaselessly a confusing
Magnetism drives them
Together like two children
Filled with a compulsion for
Cruelty they'll later call
Love and later still
One of them is always
Disappearing for days and
Resurfacing with fistfuls
Of flowers out of habit
The other never leaves
The other says wait
Right here while I
Put these in some water.
