Today's poem is by Alec Hershman
Breather
Respite is the cream of labor.
While you were busy. While you were busy.
Filamentthat's the distancefrom which I could just think of a cigarette
and feel my lips pearl. It's also the way I've tethered the boats,
a look as quick as spider-web,scalp-harbor sinking beneath a bed-sheet.
And all the calendar facesof the ones I am to love
are nodding in the bay like balloons.
