Today's poem is by Linda Lerner
City Rain
For days, rain blasting away
and nothing
on the bare trees,
nothing
on faces pinched out of Burberrys and London Fogs,
but the shadows of trees
branching dead bark everywhere
and someone's rage
at an umbrella turned inside out.
