Michael Derrick Hudson lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His poems have appeared in The Georgia Review, The Iowa Review, and Puerto del Sol and have won The Madison Review's Phyllis Smart Young Prize and the River Styx International Poetry Contest. In 2009, his manuscript The Dead Bird in the Liquor Store Parking Lot was a finalist for both the May Swenson Poetry Award and the Brittingham and Pollak Poetry Prize.
