How We Fail to Envision the Dead

We rarely see him looking up—
this drowned man. Hope
is a big part
of our lives. Smart

strategy. So many things we
try not to see.
And that means more
than you'd think. Sure,

there are small disasters, but not
our own. So. What's
it worth—that sleep—
down there, so deep?
