Greg Delanty
, a native of Cork, Ireland, is the author of The Ship of Birth (Louisiana State University Press, 2007), Collected Poems of Greg Delanty, 1986-2006 (Carcanet Press, 2006) and many other books on both sides of the Atlantic. His translations from part of the Greek Anthology are, he writes, under the third category of Dryden's characterization of translations of "metaphase," "paraphrase," and "imitation," or as he suggests "betterphrase."
