Erica Dawson
was born in Columbia, Maryland in 1979 and is currently pusuing a PhD in English and Comparative Literature at the University of Cincinati as the Elliston Fellow in Poetry. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Barrow Street, Blackbird, Sewanee Theological Review, Southwest Review, and Viginia Quarterly Review. She has been awarded several fellowships and prizes, including the Academy of American Poets Prize at Ohio State University. Her debut collection, Big-Eyed Afraid, won the 2006 Anthony Hecht Prize, and her work was selected by Charles Wright for inclusion in the 2008 Best American Poetry anthology.
