Today's poem is by Nicky Beer
Ventouse Sous Verre
Sucker under glassThose empty, aubergine-edged saucers, her best,
in sundry sizes, are precisely tessellated
and creepingly uncountable. She has laid youa table d'hote of these ghost-courses against
the glass, which is imperceptible without her,
heavy-lidded proprietress who is all raised
hem and no flirt.
