Today's poem is by L. S. Klatt
Smithereens
The treetop, at 9.86 meters per second squared
plummetsIts canopy a blown parachute
& how will the voluptuous receive dead weight?
Like a windshield
Survivors climb out from the branches
blown as glassTheir speech is vacuum & their tympanum
So we take them in & let them commandeer
In & out of our lives they wander
as hornets& they will not collect themselves
