Kingdom Come At Once

Once it's in
a man's head

autumn begins.
In his eye

a harvest provides
relativity
for his plot,

his heart
big as a bushel
basket of apples

until it topples.

So then,
it is his fist
punched in a river

& the slowing
nothing.
Twisted as

the contorted
filbert's limbs, it is
he who knots him.

When worry
is the weight of his
one good knife,

it should be
enough to set down
on his father's table

& begin the bargain.
