Eric Schwerer attended the University of Iowa's Writers Workshop. After working as a carpenter in Kentucky, Louisiana and Ohio, he got a Ph.D. in creative writing at Ohio University. He is the author of two books of poetry: Whittling Lessons and Saint of Withdrawal.
