Today's poem is by Kate Greenstreet
from Great Women of Science
Many things about the story are puzzling.
The women cooking, the menswimming in the sea.
I believe we need lightinside the body.
Her necklace issparkling, see?
See the sparkle lines?Wood into gold, "this diamond, this
poetry I speak of"'I always wished I had a different voice.
Do you remember playing "having a baby" on your porch?Taking turns
as the groaning, screaming woman. And as the nurse
who brought the doll. It gets more like this.
