About Today’s Special Dish:
"I can’t remember when I’ve read a more delicious group of poems than Nina Lindsay’s Today’s Special Dish. This book is pure, stunning pleasure. The fragrances and sparks of flavor—endearing scenes and revelations—surprise with whimsy, turning and twisting on the tongue in hypnotic ways. I felt my whole palate perk up, like when you want to call all your friends and tell them about that fresh mango/sticky rice superlative dessert you just ate at the new Thai cafe. Meet me there! Read this book!"
"These poems to me that daily life, when attended to, is full of unsought treasures. They remind me to to 'just taste' the bread and salt of my existence, and to find in that all the passion, beauty, and tragedy of a great symphony. Nina Lindsay's surprising shifts of phrase, her sure sense of timing, and her keen eye for the domestic details that make or break our everyday experience make this book a rich and savory meal."
June 6, 2006: "And came to the place where she recognized herself without fear" " Arriving, tired, forehead peaked, ribs bright. It was not in this..."
