Today's poem is by Mercedes Lawry
How Passion Finds Us
The serpent moon gives no promise.
The deeper we go together, the more
we lose sight of the caution that lives
beneath our skin. We peel moments
from each other, leave fires burning
and the tiger’s eye at the window.
There is no resistance in this tableau,
your hand pressed against my belly,
my long sighs like waves across the night.
