Today's poem is by Gail Segal
Either/Or
Refusing latitude
let the mind go
into only one room.
At first,
newness,
then the chair,
stapled to the floor,
cannot be sat in
if one will see
through the one window
ships with tall sails
tacking the sound.
So choose:
Stanislovsky said
you cannot think sitting
what you will
consider standing.
Already a divide,
even in one room.
